We would like to offer our congratulations (happy birthday!) to everyone with a January birthday, and our condolences. We encourage healthy living, but it makes celebrating tricky when everyone seems to be doing Dry January, Veganuary and generally trying to make healthy choices.

You can’t have a decent celebration without a birthday cake, so our advice is, if you can’t beat them, join them. Try one of these delicious, healthy cake recipes this January, and don’t forget to add one of our personalised photo cake toppers to make it extra special!

Top Tip - healthy frosting!

Our toppers work best on iced cakes or light coloured cake toppings - why not make a healthier topping using Greek yogurt? Put a colander over a medium bowl and line with some cheesecloth or muslin. Add 200g yogurt, cover, chill and leave to strain for 2-3 hours – you should be left with a clear-ish liquid in the lower bowl and the yogurt should be firmer. Mix in 25g maple syrup and ¼ tsp vanilla extract.
